She’s bubbly, down-to-earth, sometimes outspoken and her laugh is infectious. She is seasoned, witty, refreshing and truly connects with her listeners. Deana Wright hails from Madison, Wisconsin (yep, she’s a “cheesehead”!) and has worked in several major markets including Detroit, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and now New York.
Deana was bitten by the radio bug early and was offered her first job while attending the University of Wisconsin, where she majored in Communications/Journalism. She was hired by #1 CHR station to do news briefs, but after a year decided to make the leap from radio to television by accepting a position with KBJR-TV. After working as an Anchor/Reporter for the NBC affiliate for several years, Deana made the decision to return to radio…her “first love”.
Since then she's worked in various formats including News, CHR, Hot AC, AC, Smooth Jazz and Urban AC. Deana has worked all shifts including Mornings, Middays, Afternoons and Nights and as Music Director and Assistant Program Director. Deana has received numerous awards including Best Afternoon Air Personality, Best Midday Show, #1 Night Show and was nominated for Radio & Records Personality of the Year award. Still she remains humble, and attributes her success to her undeniable faith and conviction. Deana’s mantra is “I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me”.
In her spare time Deana is involved in mentoring, public speaking and working with fellow adoptees. She enjoys collecting art, dancing, sports, cooking/ baking, interior decorating, musicals, traveling, doing voiceovers and watching TV (especially CNN, HGTV, Y&R and lots & lots of reality shows). Deana is a proud parent, and has a cute little white pomapoo named Dolce.
