Naama Studios posted this 100% off deal last month, encouraging patrons to come get their Ye tattoos removed free of charge. Their social media accounts promote this deal as “Yeezy come, Yeezy go.”
In a post on Instagram, the studio wrote “When you have a tattoo inspired by someone you admire and they end up making headlines for all the wrong reasons… at NAAMA we offer an empowering, empathetic, high-tech tattoo-clearing experience. If you want a change, we’re here to help.”
In an interview with CNN, a member of the Naama Studios team, Briony Garbett, explained why they began this promotion. “People with Kanye tattoos were coming to us and you could hear how triggering it was for them, how embarrassing and shameful they felt, given he’s been making the headlines for the wrong reasons,” she recalled. “We wanted to alleviate that feeling and offer a place for people to come.”
According to the studio’s website, the full tattoo removal can be done in about 2 to 3 weeks, or 10 to 15 sessions. Anyone with Kanye West tattoos that are interested, can reach out to the studio through email or by tagging them on social media.
This all comes after the rapper lost fans and jeopardized his business relationships by making a series of antisemitic and hateful statements in public since October. He has been suspended from various social media accounts as well as had a majority of his deals with brands like adidas, dropped.
