Usher came to a quick realization when it comes to serenading women at his residences.
During his first show at his La Seine Musicale residency in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, the singer spotted actress Gabrielle Union in the crowd and was about to sing to her but quickly stopped himself after seeing her husband, Dwyane Wade next to her.
“Let’s not get carried away,” the singer said. “Y’know, this is Dwyane Wade- I ain’t crazy! That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it.” He would post the moment on Twitter with the caption that read, “Ion want no smoke!”
Wade would repost the video saying that it’s all love between them. https://x.com/DwyaneWade/status/1706388817966403928?s=20
This moment comes a few months after he infamously serenaded Keke Palmer during his Las Vegas residency. He sang “There Goes My Baby” to the actress where she would be heavily criticized by her baby father, Darius Jackson, on social media.
It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” he wrote. “ We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife and mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others and he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family and my representation. I have standards and morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
Keke Palmer wasn’t the only woman to be serenaded by the singer. Other people included Winnie Harlow, Kash Doll, and more.
It was recently announced that Usher will be the 2024 SuperBowl Halftime performer in Las Vegas.
