Former partner of Sean “Diddy” Combs and singer, Cassie, has accused to R&B mogul of rape and abuse during their relationship that lasted over a decade.
According to a new report from the New York Times, the Me & U singer filed a lawsuit in a Manhattan court against Combs. The documents state Cassie’s account of her relationship with him. She claims that shortly after she met him in 2005 at the age of 18, he began control and abuse tactics. This included but was not limited to supplying her with drugs, beating her and forcing her to have sex with a succession of male prostitutes while he filmed.
Cassie also mentioned rape. Towards the end of their relationship in 2018, she says he forced his way into her home and raped her.
Cassie vs. Diddy
In a statement she wrote, “After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”
Comb’s lawyer shared a response to the allegations.
“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” he began. “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”
The lawsuit also claims that Combs asked Cassie to carry his gun in her purse. She also mentions that he had admitted to blowing up the car of a rival suitor.
Cassie, who was once signed under Combs’ label, Bad Boy Entertainment, also claims that Combs would threaten to suppress her music if she did not obey his ‘violent’ orders.
Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor said the two parties had spoken before the suit was filed.
“Mr. Combs offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit. She rejected his efforts.”
