Fans are gearing up to watch Beyoncé’s new Reanissance film that comes out later this week. A select few were able to attend the LA premiere with the star, where some spoilers were released. One spoiler in particular about her daughter, Blue Ivy, has shocked even the most loyal of fans.
According to the New York Times, it was revealed in the movie that Blue Ivy’s performance on tour with her mother was only supposed to happen once.
“She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no,” Beyoncé reportedly says in the film.
She also added that Blue read the original comments about her performance. Many people online had negative comments about her “lackluster” moves. However, the Cuff It singer said she was “thrilled” to see the resilience in Blue to want to improve.
In a recent interview with Gayle King for CBS Mornings, Jay-Z sang a similar tune to that of his wife in regards to their daughter, Blue Ivy.
“Blue’s been born into this world that she didn’t ask,” he said to King. “She’s been born into a life she didn’t ask for. So since she was born she’s been in, like, scrutiny and public eye, and everyone having an opinion. I know how nervous she was. I know how frightened she was. And she wanted to do it.”
He continued, “She wanted to do it the first night, and we was like, ‘OK, if this is something you wanna do, you can’t just go out there. You gotta go work with the dancers, and go work.’ And she worked every day and we watched her work hard. She had a little icy pack thing on her back some days.”
