Nearly 30 years after her debut album, Lauryn Hill is dropping new music.

On Wednesday (May 15), TMZ spoke with Lauryn Hill and her son YG Marley after they performed together on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. At the beginning of the video YG Marley is asked about the possibility of Ms. Hill dropping a second album. The Fugees rapper’s last LP, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, debuted on Aug. 25, 1998.

“What about your mom’s second album?” YG is asked by the camera person. “We need a second album from her. Is she close to doing that? Because I know she’s kind of been back and forth about that idea.”

He then revealed the answer to the burning question. “New music’s on the way,” YG responded.

The TMZ reporter caught up with Hill and informed her that Marley had told them her fans could expect new music. Hill looked at the reporter and nodded her head without saying anything.

On the Tonight Show, Hill performed an eight-minute medley, of her classic hit “Ex-Factor” before moving into YG Marley’s songs “Survival” and “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” with backing from a live band.

As they wrapped up the electrifying show, Ms. Hill congratulated Fallon on the 10th anniversary of him taking over the Tonight Show reins.

Hill’s historic debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, will be inducted into the Grammys Hall of Fame. Other inductees include De La Soul‘s 3 Feet High and Rising and Donna Summer, “I Feel Love.”
