Meagan Good returns to the small screen with a leading role in Lifetime’s “Terry McMillan Presents: Forever.” Following her performance in Tyler Perry’s “Divorce In The Black,” Good will star alongside Taye Diggs. Both actors will also serve as executive producers for the film.
The movie, directed by Charles Murray, will premiere on Saturday, August 24, at 8 p.m. ET. Written by Bart Baker, the story follows Johnnie (played by Diggs) who returns home after military service only to be served divorce papers. Unexpectedly, he falls for Carlie (played by Good), a local policewoman who pulled him over for speeding.
To win Carlie’s heart, Johnnie must first win over her three daughters. This journey requires him to confront and let go of his old fears and regrets. Through this process, Johnnie learns the true meaning of love and family.
A New Era for Lifetime Movies
“Terry McMillan Presents: Forever” is part of Lifetime’s 40th anniversary celebration and the second film under the “Terry McMillan Presents” umbrella. The first installment, “Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted By Love,” premieres a week earlier on August 17.
In “Tempted By Love,” Garcelle Beauvais stars as Ava, a renowned chef who leaves her life in Europe to care for her elderly aunt. She falls in love with her younger driver, Luke, played by Vaughn W. Hebron. The movie explores the complexities of romance and personal growth amid life’s ups and downs.
Terry McMillan, the celebrated author behind these films, expressed her excitement about collaborating with Lifetime. “As women, we can be messy. We can be complicated. We can be so many things,” she said. “Life is never tied up in a bow, so it’s thrilling to be back in business with Lifetime, who allows women to tell our own stories in an authentic way.”
