Lauryn Hill and The Fugees dropped a bombshell on their fans.
They have announced that “The Miseducation Anniversary Tour” has been canceled with no reason given. Reports say that one Tuesday, August 6, concertgoers received an email about the sudden cancellation. “Your event has been canceled. A refund will be on its way to your account soon.”
It was previously reported that “The Miseducation Anniversary Tour” was to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Billboard 200 No. 1 album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” The tour was set to kick off on Friday, August 9th in Tampa, Florida with stops in New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Houston, and more.
With U.S. tour dates gone, the concert seemingly will continue overseas beginning in Manchester, England on Oct. 12 and ending in Amsterdam on Oct. 22. They are set to stop in London and Paris as well. This tour was previously postponed in November 2023. “As many of you may know, I’ve been battling serious vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time,” Lauryn Hill wrote on her Instagram at the time. “In order to prevent any long-term negative effect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medication completely.”
She added, “The shows that were canceled this year will be rescheduled for early 2024 and because of the overwhelming response, we’ll be adding new cities to the tour, including overseas.”
