Taraji P. Henson’s latest visit to Bali to see Russell SImmons has fans confused.
The Color Purple actress recently made headlines for visiting Russell Simmons’ Gdas Bali Health and Wellness Resort in Bali. Simmons expressed his gratitude for Henson’s presence on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message alongside a photo of the two together.
“People when u have friends like this, you are truly blessed!!!!,” wrote Simmons on Instagram under a photo of himself and Henson. “Everyone comes to Gdas [Health & Wellness Resort] for healing; some people exude healing energy. You are one of those.”
In a January post from 2023, Simmons gave a shout out to the Baby Boy actress saying that he is one of her biggest fans.
Despite the warm sentiments, Henson faced criticism for her association with Simmons, who has been accused of sexual assault. Comments on Simmons’ post included disapproval, with one user questioning her decision to visit him.
“Love Taraji but sumn been off bout her lately,” one user commented under Simmons Instagram post.
“I know she didn’t,” another commented.
Users on X, shared similar sentiments with one commenting, “This is why I never take her seriously.”

This visit comes on the heels of renewed allegations against Simmons. In February, a former Def Jam music executive accused him of sexually assaulting her in the 1990s, leading to severe emotional distress. Simmons has consistently denied these allegations, asserting that his move to Bali in 2018 was not an attempt to evade legal issues.
In 2018, Simmons was hit with a $10-million rape lawsuit by a woman who said Simmons forced himself on her in a hotel room after a concert. He also denied that allegation.
“I vehemently deny all the allegations made against me. They have shocked me to my core as I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women,” he said at the time.
Henson is not the only celebrity to visit Simmons’ wellness resort. Usher also made headlines for his trip to the resort in March, coinciding with his honeymoon in Thailand.
