Tyrese Gibson has added a new title to his name. He is now Dr. Gibson. Over the weekend, the accomplished actor and singer received an honorary doctorate from Leaders Esteem Christian Bible University in Woodlands, Texas. The university honored Tyrese for his significant contributions to society, recognizing his work not only as an entertainer but also as a humanitarian.

During the ceremony, Tyrese expressed deep gratitude, particularly emphasizing the role of his faith. “I’m so grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ,” he stated while addressing fellow honorees and the audience. This recognition marks a significant moment in Tyrese’s life, one he shared with his fans on Instagram. “Please, please I am asking you to put some respect on my name—Dr. Gibson is here,” he wrote, celebrating the milestone with his signature humor.

The ceremony was filled with light-hearted moments, reflecting Tyrese’s joy and excitement. At one point, he joked about his new title, saying, “My office hours are now from nine to three. Dr. Gibson.” He also quipped about his relationship, adding, “Me and my lady be arguing about stuff, but you can’t argue with a doctor, baby,” referring to his girlfriend, Zelie Timothy, who stood proudly by his side during the event.

Receiving this honorary degree comes at a time when Tyrese is navigating significant personal challenges. He has been open about his struggles, particularly in his ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife, Samantha Lee. Earlier this month, Tyrese revealed that Lee is seeking to increase his monthly child support payments to $40,000. This legal dispute has added stress to his life, but Tyrese remains resilient, finding solace and strength in his faith.

In a recent interview, he highlighted his commitment to being open about his emotional struggles. “I’m doing the best I can with every 24 hours I get,” he said.
