Judge Greg Mathis wants that old thing back with his wife Linda Mathis.
As previously reported, Linda Mathis, filed for divorce earlier this month. after 39-years of marriage. Linda cited their separation date as July 17. She didn’t get into specifics behind the divorce but cited irreconcilable differences.
Speaking with TMZ at LAX Airport, Judge Mathis kept it all sorts of candid when quizzed about how he is feeling. He shared:
“I’m not good. It’s the worse days of my life. Maybe I’ll be a cautionary tale for other men: don’t neglect your wife.” Never be too busy, never have too much fun beyond (loving on) your wife.”
Revealing that the filing arrived after he was gone from the marital home for three weeks, he confirmed they are still living together. He continued:
“We’re still in the same house and we are maintaining a friendship and I am trying to get my wife back. I have to show her that, though. Hopefully, I can show her that before…hopefully she didn’t complete the (divorce) process. I am changing in hopes that she will.”
Judge Mathis previously has credited Linda for supporting his near-constant work schedule in order to provide for them.
“After coming out of the streets in Detroit, Linda allowed me to work 15 hours a day, five, six days a week,” he said upon earning his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “So it’s that support that allowed me to pursue the success that you see.”
At the time, Linda agreed, saying, “Our love and support runs deep. That’s how the Mathis family rolls.”
The estranged couple shares four children, Amir, Jade, Greg Jr, and Camara, who are each in their 30s. The family appeared together in the reality TV show Mathis Family Matters.
