Kendrick Lamar set social media on fire after he revealed that he will be performing at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The rapper posted a video on social media of him standing in front of the American Flag, throwing a few footballs. “Super Bowl LIX (59). New Orleans. February 2025. #AppleMusicHalftime,” he wrote in his caption.

The event will take place in New Orleans, and although fans were happy that it would be “Not Like Us” rapper taking center stage, other fans felt like that slot should have gone to New Orleans natives; Lil Wayne and Cash Money. See some of the reactions below.

In a recent interview, Jay-Z spoke about Kendrick Lamar performing at the Super Bowl. According to a tweet from NFR Podcast, Hov said, “Kendrick is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer.” He continued, “He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. His work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
