Eve credits Janet Jackson for saving her life.

In her memoir, the Philadelphia native recalled the time that her drink was spiked at an MTV Video Music Awards Afterparty in 2007, and how Jackson came to the rescue with Missy assisting her.

“Missy came in to check on me, but I was just unable to collect myself. Then who walks in, Janet Jackson,” the rapper wrote. “I had never met her before, and so her first introduction to me was seeing me hysterical. None of that mattered to Janet; she actually just sprang into action and told people to get aspirin, water, hot sauce, and a piece of white bread. That concoction knocked me right out of my hysteria. So basically Janet Jackson saved my life.”

This isn’t the first that Eve has been vocal about this incident. During a 2018 episode of The Talk, she revealed how she began to feel “disoriented and crazy” after she drank her drink. “I heard this really soft voice that’s like, ‘It’s okay. It’s okay. I’ll take care of it.’ And I’m snot crying. And, I turn around and it’s Janet Jackson. Watch the entire clip below.

This comes after Janet Jackson faced scrutiny after she made controversial comments about Vice President Kamala Harris’ ethnicity.
