Trina McGee, best known for her role in Boy Meets World, has opened up about her recent pregnancy loss. The 55-year-old actress shared her emotional experience during an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, revealing she suffered a miscarriage just months after announcing her “miracle” pregnancy at age 54.
“I did lose the baby,” McGee said, referring to the end of her first trimester. “It wasn’t expected, and we don’t have any real reasons why. I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and time.”
McGee’s Loss and Depression
Following the heartbreaking news, McGee admitted she went through a period of deep sadness. “I experienced a lot of depression after,” she said. “It’s hard to get out of bed, and there’s so many things that come when you want your family to be complete. Facing the fact that it’s not going to happen at this point was very hard.”
Despite the difficult journey, McGee, who has three adult children from a previous marriage, expressed gratitude for the chance to conceive again. She had previously described the pregnancy as “completely natural” and referred to it as a “shock” but a blessing nonetheless.
“Part of me doesn’t ever want to go through this again,” McGee shared, contemplating whether she would try for another baby. “The conclusion I came to is, we’ll just keep loving each other. If something happens, fine. But I don’t want to put another anxiety on myself. Sometimes it’s better to let go and let God.”
Support from Family
McGee’s announcement of her pregnancy earlier in June surprised her family. She humorously admitted that two of her children found out about the pregnancy via social media. “One of them was really upset. It was just a matter of a couple of hours of a slip,” she explained.
While McGee may not pursue another pregnancy, she remains hopeful and focused on her family’s love and future.
