The Connecticut Chief Medical Officer officially determined that the Grammy Award-winning DJ and hype man, born Isaac Freeman III, died of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. He was 56 years old.
Fatman Scoop collapsed while performing at a show in Hamden, Connecticut, on August 30. The performance took place at Hamden Town Center Park, where he suddenly fell on stage in the middle of his set. Emergency services immediately responded, administering CPR and rushing him to a nearby hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead later that same day.
