Soul sensation Stephanie Mills stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk all things music and dating.
During her visit, Mills was asked if she is still dating. She stated that, in addition to playing games, men are only interested in younger women who are “high yellow.”
“I’m not dating. I am a very independent woman and I don’t like knuckleheads.” The 67-year-old singer continued, “Men have a lotta game with them. I’m not gonna play any games. I think even if they have another woman or another situation, I think they should be honest and most men are not honest.”
“OGs like young girls; they don’t like girls like me. They like them young girls, and most men like high yellow women… they don’t like dark women,” Mills said.
The R&B icon previously dated Michael Jackson in the 70s. In an interview with V103, Mills reveal that she was in love with MJ. “I loved Michael,” she said. “I thought that I was going to be Mrs. Michael Jackson, but I was ready at 20 and 21 to get married and he was not even close to getting married or having a girlfriend at the time, but yes we dated. We dated for a while.”
Mills has been married three times according to Essence. Mills’ first husband was Jeffrey Daniel, who she married in 1980. Her second husband was actor Dino Meminger and her third was Michael Saunders, whom she wed in 1993.
Mills admitted that she still has an ideal partner in mind.
“I’d wanna businessman, but they’re knuckleheads too, so I don’t know,” Mills said.
