Scarface gives a health update after he shared a photo on Instagram of him in the ICU at Houston Methodist Hospital about six weeks ago. The rapper shared that he is on the road to recovery.

Over the weekend, he was honored at the 2025 Grandmaster Awards in Las Vegas. In a new post, he reflected on his journey in the caption. “Six weeks ago, I underwent open-heart surgery. To be upright and smiling today shows you that God ain’t nothing to play with. I’m grateful; it could’ve gone either way, yet I’m still alive.”

Scarface has been very open and candid about his health journey. In 2021, he underwent a kidney transplant, thanks to his son, Chris Jordan, giving him a transplant. The rapper went on Instagram Live to share how appreciative he is for his son. “My son saved my life and I can’t say enough about him. That boy saved my life man. And I love him so much. But I always said that s*** though. He’s the best son a guy could have. Chris, you ain’t s**t,” he laughingly said. “Don’t make me laugh, Chris. C’mon dawg.”

The former Geto Boys member continued, “I’m so proud of you. I love you too much. You saved my muthaf***kin’ life. You low down muthaf***a. You’re selfish. Won’t let a n***a die. That n***a will not let me die. I ain’t gonna tear up in here in front of all these people on Instagram Live.”
