Denzel Washington shares a piece of his mind with fans and paparazzi while in New York City.

While out celebrating with fellow actor and friend Samuel L. Jackson at the Museum of Modern Art, Washington was seen on video addressing a rowdy crowd of fans asking for respect. “Yo, put this down,” the actor said toward the crowd.

“I heard you, you keep talking about showing love, I got nothing but love, but respect me,” he continued. The actor added that he saw the crowd earlier and then asked, “Which part of that don’t y’all understand? Or not. We could do that another way. We can do it both ways. You feel me?”

Fans reacted to the video in defense of Washington. One fan wrote that he was “standing on business.” In the midst of this chaos, Denzel Washington is getting ready for his performance in the upcoming movie “Gladiator II.

He recently opened up about what it was like working with the director Ridley Scott. “When you would walk around, you were in Rome, and it seemed like 10,000 extras and horses. It was make believe, it was play, it was fun.”

Washington added, “Just put the gear on, just put the dress on and go, that’s the way I looked at it. I’m putting this dress on, these rings, and I’m going crazy.”
