Smokey Robinson To Host Motown Christmas Special

Smokey Robinson is getting ready to bring some holiday cheer to television screens this December. 

The music legend will host A Motown Christmas along with singer Halle Bailey. It will be a two-hour special that will be presented by NBC. The special will air on December 11 at 9 pm and will have special guests such as Jordin Sparks, October London, Jamie Foxx, Ashanti, Andra Day, and BeBe Winans. 

The lineup will also include performances from Glady Knight, The Temptations, and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. A Motown Christmas is set to have an exclusive performance from the cast of Broadway’s MJ The Musical with Rickey Minor leading an 11-piece live band. 

It’s been reported that viewers will hear classic Motown hits such as Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” The Temptations’ “My Girl,” The Jacksons’ “ABC,” Smokey Robinson’s “Tears of a Clown,” and more.  

Jen Neal, the Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials said in a statement, “Motown’s timeless hits have played as a soundtrack for American families for the last six decades.” She continued, “NBC is honored to spotlight the iconic legacy of Motown with a festive celebration for the holiday season.” 

A Motown Christmas will be produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s Springhill. Will you be tuning in to watch this special?
