Ms.Pat, known for her raw & unfiltered storytelling, is opening up about the kind gesture made by fellow comedian, Katt Williams.
In her own interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, Ms. Pat shared that Katt stepped in and helped her cover the costs of her father’s funeral expenses.
About a day after Pat’s father’s passing, she received an invitation to go on tour with Katt Williams. Facing difficulties in dealing with funeral costs, the actress expressed her surprise when Williams, having caught wind of her discussion, intervened with a generous gesture.
“He said, ‘What you doing?’ I said, ‘My daddy just died. He died Monday. I’m just tryna make the funeral arrangements.’” According to Ms. Pat, what followed left her utterly stunned. Katt Williams walked behind a door, returned with a stack of cash, and handed it to her, saying, “Go bury your dad and come back.”
The stand-up comedian also revealed she didn’t know Katt personally before the tour. She shared that she tried to pay him back, but he refused.
“I always tell him thank you because he didn’t have to do that. In this world, in this game, there ain’t a lot of people that will do that,” she shared.
Williams is known to be financially generous with his industry peers. He covered the cost of Melba Moore’s on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has donated funds to his former neighborhood and other celebrities, including Boosie, after his release from prison.
Instagram user @laquitatscott wrote, “I love how he has helped so many people privately, but he is never the person to make it public. Love to hear them actually praising him publicly, too – give him his flowers.”
