Taylor Rooks is set as the lead host of Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming NBA studio coverage.
The streaming giant has a verbal agreement with Taylor Rooks to be the lead host of its NBA pregame, halftime and postgame shows, according to The Athletic.
Rooks, who has earned acclaim for her work on Amazon’s Thursday Night Football and as an NBA sideline reporter for TNT, is poised to become a cornerstone of the streaming giant’s basketball coverage.
Amazon is set to begin its NBA broadcasts next season as part of an 11-year deal. The new deal, worth nearly 20 billion will broadcast 60 games across the NBA and WNBA per season as part of its contract.
The news comes as no surprise as Rooks has landed major interviews on Thursday Night Football. In September, Rooks sat down with Tyreek Hill for an illuminating interview following up on a traffic stop in Miami that turned physical before a Week 1 game.
For over a decade, Rooks, 32, has been dominating the NFL and NBA media landscape, by way of blogging, reporting, and getting in on the action on the sidelines. She started her career with scout.com, covering basketball and football at Illinois from 2012-2014. Her notoriety expanded once she broke stories about Jalen Brunson and Jayson Tatum.
Rooks eventually landed a job with the Big Ten Network as an on-air host, reporter and correspondent.
