Wendy Williams, the iconic former talk show host, made a rare public appearance to support her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., at his college graduation. The ceremony, held on December 19 at Florida International University, marked a significant family moment as Wendy celebrated her son’s achievement alongside other loved ones.

Photos from the event showed the 60-year-old arriving in style on a motorized scooter. The scooter, featuring luxury-brand details with Louis Vuitton and Chanel motifs, reflected her signature flair. Wendy donned a sparkly, low-cut dress, black boots, and a bold “W” necklace for the occasion, exuding her characteristic glamour.

“It was such an important day for our family,” a source close to Wendy shared. “She wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”

The ceremony saw multiple family members in attendance, including Wendy’s 93-year-old father, Thomas Williams Sr., who was escorted in a wheelchair by her sister, Wanda Finnie. Their united presence highlighted the family’s strength amid Wendy’s ongoing health struggles.

Wendy has been open about her battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and primary progressive aphasia (PPA). These conditions have led to significant health challenges, including reports of cognitive impairment. Despite this, her attendance at Kevin’s graduation was a testament to her resilience.

Kevin, 24, has largely kept a low profile, but in February 2024, he shared concerns about his mother’s well-being during the release of the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? “She’s worked hard her entire life. It’s time for her to rest and focus on her health,” Kevin said in the documentary.

Wendy’s appearance comes amid her continued legal battles, including disputes over her guardianship. Sabrina Morrissey, her court-appointed guardian, claimed Wendy is “permanently disabled and legally incapacitated,” sparking controversy. Wendy’s ex-husband, Kevin Hunter Sr., has since filed a complaint, questioning Morrissey’s role and actions.
