Rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent is facing legal action after photographer Guadalupe De Los Santos accused him of orchestrating an assault involving his SUV. The incident allegedly occurred on September 11, 2024, following 50 Cent’s book signing at The Grove in Los Angeles.
According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, De Los Santos claims he was filming the rapper while riding his scooter when the SUV carrying 50 Cent pulled up next to him at a red light. The photographer alleges that the vehicle’s passenger door was “forcefully swung” open, causing him to fall off his scooter and sustain injuries. He accuses 50 Cent of ordering someone inside the SUV to open the door, stating, “I believe the door was intentionally opened to hit me.”
De Los Santos claims the fall resulted in significant injuries and left his scooter beyond repair. He further states that the medical bills for his treatment are mounting, and his injuries have impacted his ability to work.
50 Cent’s Legal Team Responds
The rapper’s attorney dismissed the claims, calling the lawsuit frivolous. In a statement, the legal team stated, “Mr. Jackson has neither been served with nor seen a filed copy of a lawsuit. If such a claim is filed and served, we will move to dismiss it and seek maximum sanctions under the law.” They also clarified that 50 Cent was not the driver of the SUV or the person accused of opening the door.
50 Cent Addresses the Lawsuit on Social Media
50 Cent, known for his unapologetic social media presence, also addressed the allegations on Instagram. Posting photos with attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing De Los Santos, he joked, “Gloria, you should know better, chase a different ambulance. You’re not getting money from me this way, but if you call, I’ll take you to dinner.”
The outcome of the lawsuit remains uncertain, as 50 Cent’s team continues to deny any wrongdoing. Meanwhile, De Los Santos insists that the injuries and damages warrant financial compensation. This case is yet another legal battle for the rap mogul, who is no stranger to the courtroom.
