It seems like fans can’t get enough of the classic 90s sitcom, Martin, that the show will be getting a second spinoff starring Tommy Davidson

According to reports, the show, Varnell Hill, will be developed by BET+ with Davidson returning to play the colorful character 30 years after the original show ended in 1997. Although the show is currently in the development stages, it is unclear if Martin Lawrence will be making an appearance.

This second spinoff comes after it was announced that Martin will have a Young Martin reboot, which will take viewers through Martin Payne’s childhood. The new show, Varnell Hill will be an eight-episode straight-to-series order that is described as a “workplace comedy that takes place behind the scenes of Hill’s late-night talk show.”

Davidson’s character only appeared in a two-part episode but quickly became a fan favorite. In a statement the actor wrote, “Did you miss me? Well, now you don’t have to! I’m excited and honored to be a part of such a creative project with the brilliant mind of Martin Lawrence.” He added, “Fans have requested it, and now it’s coming to BET+.”

In another interview, Tommy Davidson revealed that his character came about after he saw Lawrence being “mean” to the show crew.
