Stephon Clark’s family will finally get some justice. The city of Sacramento has agreed to pay the Clark’s two children $2.4 million settlement in the wrongful death lawsuit. On March 18th, 2018, Clark was killed in his grandparents’ backyard as two police officers thought he was a vandalism suspect. The two office shot 20 rounds at Clark but hitting him seven times, six of those bullets went into his back.
The wrongful death lawsuit was filed in January, where Clark’s family initially asked for $20 million.
Clark’s two sons, who are 2 and 5, will begin to receive their money when they are 22 and 25 years old. Each child will receive $893,112.94 after taxes. Another part of the settlement will go to Clark’s family attorneys.
