Halle didn’t respond to the criticism publicly. Considering the pictures she posted on Instagram, she’s happy with the results, and that’s all that matters.
A few notable mentions from the night include Daniel Kaluuya winning his first Oscar for ‘Best Supporting Actor in Judas And The BlackMessiah! Pixar’s ‘Soul’ won Best Animated Feature. Chinese-born filmmaker, Chloé Zhao, became the first woman of color, first Chinese woman, and second woman ever to win an Oscar for directing on the drama “Nomadland.”
Tyler Perry delivered a powerful speech and asked the world to “refuse hate.” He paid homepage to his mother and said she taught him “to refuse hate and blanket judgment.” He took home the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
