Mary J. Blige is getting ready to executive produce a new movie inspired by her hit song “Real Love.”
According to reports, the movie will air on Lifetime and it is considered to be “a coming-of-age romantic drama “Real Love,” Kendra sets off on her own for the first time to a college in upstate New York, determined to focus on her studies. But when she meets her film class partner Ben, she tries her hardest to keep things professional. Despite disapproving parents, financial hardship, and competition for the top spot in class, Kendra and Ben find themselves falling hard for each other and ultimately learn the meaning of real love.”
The movie was written by Sonja Warfield and Rachel Ingram with Ashaunna Ayars and Nicole Jackson joining Mary J. Blige as executive producers.
The song “Real Love”, came out in 1992 and was on her debut studio album “What’s the 411?”. The song would land in the seventh spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. It went on to become gold on November 4th, 1992.
