The Nou Akoma Nou Sinèrji Haitian Dominican Transnational Film Festival Date: Friday, October 11th Time: 10:00 AM-10:00 PM Location: 179 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201 (St. Francis College) Price: Free-$17.85 The Nou Akoma Nou Sinèrji Film Festival, now in its second year, returns to St. Francis College in Brooklyn from October 9 to 12, hosted by the Dominicans Love Haitians Movement. Focused on uniting Haitian and Dominican communities, the festival offers films and discussions with sliding-scale tickets to ensure accessibility. Community participation is encouraged to amplify the festival’s mission of solidarity and cultural exchange.

The African American Literary Awards Show (AALAS) is a premier annual event, shining a spotlight on the accomplishments of Black authors. Backed by the publishing, arts, and entertainment industries, it remains a key cultural celebration in the literary world. This year, the show will present awards across more than 20 categories, honoring the creativity and influence of African-American writers.
