Amerie is officially back, thrilling fans with a teaser of her new single, “Undeniable,” marking her first major music release in years. Known for early 2000s hits like “1 Thing” and “Why Don’t We Fall in Love,” Amerie had largely stepped away from the spotlight to focus on family, writing, and her book club. Her last full projects, 4AM Mulholland and After 4AM, dropped in 2018, with a few singles following in 2019. Now, after a long hiatus, the singer-songwriter is reemerging, ready to take the music scene by storm.

Amerie Drops Preview of New Track “Undeniable”

“This record is called ‘Undeniable,’ and it’s just the very beginning,” Amerie said in a recent Instagram post, accompanied by a video from the studio. “We just wrote it and just recorded it,” she explained, describing the song as a fresh and exciting start with longtime collaborator, producer Troy Taylor. Fans immediately flooded her post with comments of support, eager for more. “I haven’t anticipated a return like this in forever!” one fan wrote. Another enthusiastically commented, “Amerieeee sunshine, we need this and everything you and Troy Taylor are working on!”

Taylor, who has crafted numerous tracks with Amerie, praised her vocals and artistry. “Her voice has not changed. It’s classic. Mint condition classic,” he said. Describing their creative synergy, he revealed, “I’ve been waiting years. We’ve been stacking a folder, waiting for her.” He noted that his goal has been to ensure she “sounds classic [but] still current.”

In the teaser for “Undeniable,” Amerie’s lyrics sing, “You ain’t gotta play pretend / Don’t be afraid / I’mma take you as you are.” These words capture her essence—confident and genuine. She mentioned that the track is just “a little taste” of what’s to come, hinting at numerous ideas they have in store.

Despite her years away from the music scene, Amerie’s voice remains “undeniable,” echoing her unique place in the industry. As Taylor summed it up, “She doesn’t have to do anything but sound like Amerie.”
