Ayesha Curry recently reflected on her trip to the 2024 Paris Olympics, calling the experience “incredible” despite an unexpected encounter with French police. Curry and her family were in Paris to support her husband, NBA star Steph Curry, who helped lead Team USA to a gold medal in men’s basketball.
However, after the victory, the family’s celebration was interrupted by a tense altercation with authorities. A video surfaced showing Ayesha, her newborn son Caius, her mother-in-law Sonya, and Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green involved in a confrontation with the Paris police. The incident occurred as the family attempted to exit the Olympic grounds, which had been restricted due to French President Emmanuel Macron’s departure.
In the video, Sonya Curry can be seen demanding to be allowed to their vehicle and accusing an officer of touching her grandchild. “Look, they won’t let us go by over there where we came from,” Sonya said. “They won’t let the driver come here, and they won’t let us go back over there.” Despite the confrontation, the video did not capture any footage of Caius being struck by an officer, a claim made during the encounter.
Ayesha Curry’s Resilient Spirit
Ayesha Curry, who was visibly emotional during the incident, later shared a more positive reflection on Instagram. She posted a series of photos of her family in Paris, expressing gratitude for the experience. “A huge thank you to @airbnb for making our Paris stay so incredible,” she wrote. “We had the best time celebrating and cheering on @stephencurry30 at the @olympics.”
Curry’s post showed her smiling alongside her sons, five-year-old Canon and newborn Caius, suggesting that the family’s overall experience in Paris was memorable despite the police encounter.
Ultimately, while the run-in with authorities added a layer of tension to their trip, the Curry family seemed to focus on the positive aspects of their time in the City of Lights.
