Multi-Grammy Award winner Babyface performed at Game 5 of the 2024 World Series on Oct 30.
Ahead of the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers game, Babyface delivered his own rendition of ‘The Star Spangled Banner.’ Dressed in a crocodile leather black two piece, he stood in the MLB baseball diamond to join the ranks of stars who have sung the classic song at sporting events.
Babyface, whose real name is Kenneth Edmonds, has won 13 Grammy Awards and received 53 nominations.
He co-founded LaFace Records in 1989, which signed TLC, Usher and Toni Braxton, according to the Grammys website. Babyface himself became known for his smooth sound beloved by fans. He has been serenading audiences for over 45 years with hits, including “When Can I See You Again” and “Whip Appeal.”
Babyface has previously mentioned that of all the songs he’s produced, there isn’t one he considers a favorite. Speaking with Spectrum News, he noted, “It’s a group, it is the collection that is more important because all the artists that I worked with throughout the years, it is hard to put anyone on top of anyone. I don’t have a favorite song, it’s like saying a favorite child.”
