If you didn’t already know Ciara and Russell Wilson are winning, you just learned today!
ESPN’s Brady Henderson reports Russell Wilson reached a new four-year contract deal with the Seattle Seahawks, which includes a $140 million extension with a $65 million signing bonus and now makes him the highest-paid NFL player in history.
Wilson celebrated the record-breaking agreement by posting an IG video of himself and Ciara finally going to bed after a long day of negotiations.
“Hey Seattle, we got a deal,” Russell said from his bed. “Go Hawks! But I’ma see ya’ll in the morning. Time for ya’ll to go to bed.”
Ciara, who couldn’t stop smiling from ear-to-ear, chimed in to reiterate her hubby’s sentiments.
“Go Hawks! Finally we can do to sleep,” she said laughing before covering her face and letting out a cute snort.
Russell, who is now “contractually tied” to the Seahawks through the 2023 season, surpasses Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers “richest” contract, which included a new-money $35.5 million annual average per season and a $57.5 million signing bonus.
Knowing he had to potential of becoming a free agent, Russell was very candid about his feelings towards his future at the end of last season.
“Oh yeah, if that’s what I’ve got to do,” Wilson said. “It’s business and everything. I know essentially after the season, I could potentially be a free agent, that kind of thing. I don’t think that way. I see myself being in Seattle. I love Seattle, and it’s a special place for me.”
Talk about a level up! We know Cici’s proud!
