Ciara has been dreaming of hitting the road with her frequent collaborator Missy Elliott for years, and that dream finally came true. On July 4th, Missy kicked off her first-ever headlining tour, “Out of This World – The Missy Elliott Experience,” in Vancouver, Canada. The tour features Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Timbaland, all of whom are close friends of Missy.
Missy Elliott shared that the tour was a long-awaited event for her and Ciara, who had been pushing for it for quite some time. “Ciara had been asking me and asking me,” Missy told People. “I’d be like, ‘Okay,’ but then I’d always find myself in the studio doing something else.”
Over the years, Missy and Ciara have collaborated on several tracks. Missy appeared on Ciara’s second single, “1, 2 Step,” and the 2009 hit “Work,” while Ciara and Fatman Scoop featured on Missy’s 2005 hit “Lose Control.”
Ciara expressed her admiration for Missy, saying, “Missy has always been one of my greatest inspirations and like a big sister to me. She is the definition of a true artist. She has always raised the bar to the highest level, and I feel so blessed that we have been able to share some of our biggest hits together.”
The tour not only marks a major milestone for Missy Elliott but also celebrates a deep, long-standing friendship and musical partnership between the two artists.
