Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal, Peacock TV, and Ample Entertainment. The lawsuit, submitted in New York State Court, claims that the documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy contains false and defamatory statements. Combs argues that the film has caused significant damage to his reputation and financial standing.

His legal team alleges that the documentary portrays him as a criminal without factual basis. The lawsuit claims the film was produced with “reckless disregard for the truth,” intentionally harming his image for profit.

Claims of False Accusations Against Diddy

The lawsuit states that the documentary falsely accuses Combs of serious crimes, including “serial murder and sexual assault of minors.” His legal representatives argue that these allegations are completely baseless and intended to destroy his career.

Erica Wolff, Combs’ attorney, said, “In the purported documentary, Defendants accuse Mr. Combs of horrible crimes, including serial murder and sexual assault … knowing that there is no evidence to support these claims.” She further argued that NBCUniversal and its partners capitalized on public interest in scandal, ignoring journalistic integrity.

This lawsuit comes amid Combs’ other legal battles. He is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting trial on federal charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all allegations.

The timing of the documentary’s release has raised concerns about its impact on his right to a fair trial. His lawyers argue that the film could prejudice potential jurors and damage his ability to defend himself in court.

Combs is seeking a jury trial and damages of at least $100 million. His legal team believes this case will set a precedent regarding false portrayals of public figures.

NBCUniversal and Ample Entertainment have not yet responded to requests for comment. Meanwhile, the family of Kim Porter, Combs’ late ex-partner, has called for respect and an end to speculation surrounding her death.
