Donald Trump has won the presidential election for the second time, making him the 47th president of the United States.
His win over Vice President Kamala Harris was projected on Wednesday morning by CNN. While at his Mar-a-Lago Resort, Trump expressed that he would “heal” the nation, fix the country’s borders, and help the economy be prosperous.
“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president. This will truly be the golden age of America,” he said. Trump is the second president to win a nonconsecutive term.
Trump’s new plan will bring new fears for the American people. During his campaign, he has vowed to “enact retribution” and has been vocal about using America’s governing institutions to “punish his foes.” He also has plans to do a mass deportation of undocumented immigrants as well as deport legal immigrants.
Trump’s win over Harris came after the state of Wisconsin allowed him to secure the needed 270 electoral votes to win the presidency. Donald Trump is the first convicted felon to ever be elected president. His sentencing in New York was scheduled for later this month, however, it has been put on hold since winning his campaign.
Vice President Harris has yet to concede this race.
