The 1991 classic New Jack City is being turned into a stage play.
According to reports, Je’Caryous Johnson, a film producer, has decided to take the story of Nino Brown on tour. In this remake, Flex Alexander, Big Daddy Kane, Treach, and Allen Payne (original cast member) are all set to play the leading roles.
In the original film, Payne starred alongside Wesley Snipes, who played the drug kingpin, Nino Brown, Ice-T, and Chris Rock. Johnson shared the news about the play on Twitter and fans were eager to post their reactions. See what they had to say below.

Johnson is also behind the Set It Off stage play which starred Demetria McKinney, Da Brat, LeToya Luckett, and Kyla Pratt. Tickets for this play are currently on sale and the tour of production will start in Philadelphia on November 4th and will end in St. Louis, Missouri on February 26th.
