Steve Harvey is speaking his mind about Kelis’ issues with Beyoncé.
It was recently reported that Kelis called out Beyoncé for sampling her hit song, “Milkshake” on Bey’s Renaissance album. Harvey has decided to give his take on the situation and said, “I don’t even understand”
He went on to say that Kelis is probably a wonderful girl but may have made a bad business decision. “Sometimes we don’t make the best decisions. Sometimes them rants could just turn into a phone call and a business decision.”
Steve also shared that he believes that it probably wasn’t Beyoncé’s decision to use the sample. “I don’t even think it was Beyoncé,” he said. “But you know what Beyoncé did was ‘okay, cool take it out. I don’t want to hear nothing.’”
Kelis spoke out about the song that is owned by the Neptunes being sampled without her getting paid for it. “It’s not a collab it’s theft,” she said. “My mind is blown too because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding.”
She continued, “I heard about this the same way everyone else did. Nothing is ever as it seems, some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled.”
Beyoncé responded to the rant by quietly removing the sample from her song “Energy” and taking Kelis’ name off of the credits list.
Do y’all agree with Steve Harvey on this issue?
