Wow!
Last night Lifetime Network was set to premiere their latest docuseries titled ‘Surviving R Kelly’ nonetheless it was cut short due to gun threats.
According to reports, 10 minutes into the film, theater management requested that everyone evacuate the premises.
Those who organized the event told their audience “We exited the building out of an abundance of caution, but this is all the more reason why we need to make sure this message is heard.”
Lifetime later made a statement saying:
“There were several called in gun threats to NeueHouse. With the safety of guests in mind, we decided to evacuate the theater…This was an intimidation tactic from R. Kelly to further silence these women.”
No arrests were made, and thankfully no one was hurt.
Take a look at the Tweets from attendees below:
I was at the #SurvivingRKelly doc screening last night when it was abruptly evacuated due to a gun threat called into NYPD from Chicago. Never experienced anything like this at a screening before.https://t.co/3OaM93d8J8

Tonight was a private screening of the @lifetimetv documentary #survivingRkelly where his survivors, parents of survivors, and folks featured in the doc were gathered and a BOMB THREAT was called in and the event shut down. #muteRkelly— Tarana (@TaranaBurke) December 5, 2018
