Hip-hop legend Fat Joe declared 2024 as the “worst year ever in Hip-Hop history,” citing public scandals and celebrity scrutiny. During an appearance on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion, Joe candidly shared his perspective on the tumultuous year.

“It’s Been a Horrible Year”- Fat Joe

“I woke up in 2024 feeling like, ‘God dammit! It’s been a horrible year,’” Joe said, referencing personal and industry-wide struggles. He explained, “This might be the worst year ever in Hip-Hop history type sht. This sht bad. All our legends, all our mentors getting scrutinized.”

Joe emphasized the challenges of being a celebrity in today’s world. “This is the worst time to be a celebrity in the history of mankind,” he lamented. “I got friends who are filthy rich that wanna be popping… I don’t think they want everybody in they sht like that. This sht crazy out here. You can’t make it up!”

From Diddy’s legal troubles to Jay-Z’s unexpected involvement in lawsuits and high-profile divorces, 2024 has been rife with controversy. Joe’s frustration extended to his close friends, Remy Ma and Papoose, whose marital issues have played out publicly.

Fat Joe expressed deep disappointment in the public fallout between Remy Ma and Papoose. “It’s a hard situation,” he said. “I don’t like none of that sh*t. What I can’t do is stop it. They won’t listen to me.”

He elaborated on the delicate dynamic of intervening in their marriage: “Nobody comes to my house and tells my wife sh*t. This is your husband. I can’t get in the middle of that, that’s y’all.”

The couple, previously celebrated for their love, recently accused each other of infidelity, sparking heated exchanges on social media. Joe noted how surreal it felt waking up to the drama. “I woke up in the morning and my phone was going crazy,” he recalled.

As 2024 ends, Fat Joe’s reflection underscores the challenges faced by hip-hop’s public figures. While he’s hopeful for a brighter future, the impact of this turbulent year won’t be forgotten.
