Frank Ski Speaks On Hearing About Wanda Smith’s Passing

Frank Ski opens up about the moment he heard of the passing of Wanda Smith. 

Ski, who is a staple in Atlanta radio and hosted the morning show, “Frank & Wanda in the Morning,” revealed that he was in his backyard for his son’s Christening party when heard the news about his former co-host. 

On social media, Ski shared an emotional message and said, “I haven’t really had time to process it all like I really wanted to.” He went on to talk about how difficult it is to “lose somebody you loved.” 

Ski also remembered the time that they spent with each other and shared the story of when they first met. He recalled seeing her for the first time while on a trip to Atlanta. She was performing as a stand-up comedian. “She was funny as hell. I said if I ever do a morning show here, that’s who I want.” The two would begin to work together a few years later. 

“We went from 1998 to 2013, and we were number 1 for 15 years,” he added. “And I say we because me and her, it wasn’t me, it was just the both of us together, the synergy we had.” He continued, “She was just an incredible person like that.” 

Ski spoke about Smith’s volunteer efforts during major crises like September 11th and Hurricane Katrina. He also touched on their relationship in recent years. Watch the full video below. 

Wanda Smith passed away at 58 years old just one day after her birthday. No cause of death has been revealed yet.
