Frankie Beverly Passes Away At 77

Frankie Beverly of the famous group ”Frankie Beverly & Maze” has reportedly passed away. 

The singer’s family confirmed his passing on social media. “Grieving the loss of a loved one is a deeply personal and emotional experience. During this time, as we are navigating feelings of sorrow, reflection, and remembrance we kindly ask for privacy and understanding, allowing us the space to grieve in our own way. This period for is one of healing, and your respect for our need for solitude is appreciated as we honor the memory of our beloved Howard Stanley Beverly known to the world as Frankie Beverly.” 

The statement continued, “He lived his life with pure soul as one would say, and for us, no one did it better. He lived for his music, family, and friends. Love one another as he would want that for us all.” 

Frankie Beverly was born on December 6, 1946, in Philadelphia and it was there that he fell in love with music. During the 1970s, Beverly formed the band Maze, which would become one of the most influential bands of all time. According to reports, the band was first called Raw Soul but when they moved from Philadelphia to San Francisco, they were introduced to Marvin Gaye, and things changed from there. 

Throughout their career, Maze released nine albums, that all went Gold. They also gave fans timeless hits such as “Joy and Pain,” Happy Feelin’s,” and “Before I Let Go.” Recently, the singer held his farewell tour and was surprised with a $25k donation in his hometown of Philadelphia.
