Gregg Popovich will reportedly be out indefinitely after suffering from a health issue.

According to reports, the San Antonio Spurs coach suffered from a health issue over the weekend. The news was broken by Shams Charania, who said the issue occurred before the Spurs went against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Mitch Johnson, the team’s assistant coach, stepped in and will now serve as the interim coach until Popovich returns said that he “wasn’t feeling well.” He also said, “This has happened before. I think everybody’s just always got to be ready for the next man up.”

Johnson continued, “Sometimes people get sick or don’t feel well or things come up in life. He’s just not feeling well.” The information on Gregg Popovich’s medical issue is unclear, however, this isn’t the first time that he has missed games during the season.

In 2022, he was out due to having a minor medical procedure done, but he returned a short time later. We are going to keep Gregg Popovich in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
