Irv Gotti recently opened up about his health after suffering a stroke six months ago. Speaking exclusively to The Shade Room, Gotti assured fans that he is in good health and has been on the mend since the incident. “I’m getting older. That’s all,” he shared, adding, “Only thing worse than getting old is not getting old.”

“Life Is Good” for Irv Gotti

Despite the health scare, Gotti remains optimistic and is enjoying life with his family. He has been spending quality time with his sons, Sonny and JJ, and their two dogs. “Life is good,” he said, emphasizing his focus on family during this period. Gotti mentioned that his children were upset by rumors surrounding his health, particularly those spread by Wack 100, a music manager who claimed Gotti was in a rehab facility using a walker. “They love their dad so much,” Gotti said, expressing his gratitude for their support.

Gotti’s stroke was attributed to his long-standing battle with diabetes, a condition he has been open about in the past. During an appearance on the podcast Drink Champs, Gotti discussed his struggles with managing the disease, admitting to not always taking his insulin consistently. However, since the stroke, he has made significant changes to his lifestyle. A representative for Gotti confirmed that he has adopted a healthier diet and has been successful in making a full recovery. The representative also clarified that Gotti is not in a rehab facility, as some rumors suggested, but is instead recovering at home with his family.

Looking ahead, Gotti remains focused on his work and is currently developing a biopic about the late rapper DMX. Despite the challenges he has faced, Gotti’s resilience and commitment to both his health and his creative projects are clear. As he puts it, “Life is good,” and he’s determined to keep it that way.
