Jamie Foxx has finally broken his silence on his sudden hospitalization in 2023. Speaking to a group of restaurant patrons, Foxx revealed that it all began with a simple headache.

“Look, April 11 last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil, and I was gone for 20 days,” Foxx recounted. “I don’t remember anything. I’m in Atlanta. My sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor.”

The Medical Mystery of Jamie Foxx

Foxx explained that the first doctor didn’t provide many answers. “The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there,’” he added, pointing to his head. “I won’t say it on camera… but it was.”

The incident initially made headlines in April 2023 when his daughter, Corinne, shared the news on Instagram. In a now-deleted post, she described her father’s condition as a “medical complication.” Corinne emphasized that “quick action and great care” were crucial in saving Foxx from a worse fate.

Jamie Foxx made his first public appearance in December 2023, at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema and Television. He hinted at the severity of his condition, saying, “I couldn’t do that six months ago, I couldn’t actually walk to [the stage].”

A New Perspective on Life

Foxx also addressed bizarre rumors circulating about him. “I’m not a clone, I know a lot of people saying that I was cloned out there,” he joked. Reflecting on his experience, he said, “I cherish every single minute now. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy.”

In May 2024, while accepting the Producers Award from the African American Film Critics Association, Foxx announced plans to discuss his health scare in a comedy special. “Everybody wants to know what happened, and I’m going to tell you what happened, but I gotta do it my way,” he said. “I’m going to be on stage. We’re going back to the stand-up sort of roots.”

Foxx’s sister, Deidra Dixon, played a crucial role in his recovery. He has praised her publicly, saying, “Without you, I would not be here.”
