Janet Jackson recently revealed her aversion to interviews. The Grammy-winning superstar shared her feelings during an appearance on the U.K. radio show Heart Evenings with Dev Griffin. When asked about her least favorite question, Jackson responded candidly. “I don’t mean to be rude, but I have to be honest with you. Please stop asking me questions,” she said. “I’ve never thought I give a good interview. I really don’t like speaking, so I’d rather stay quiet and listen to other people talk, and that’s always been me.”

Her admission was followed by a humorous moment. With a smile, Jackson asked, “Are we finished?” Fans praised her honesty and gracious demeanor. “She said what she said in the most adorable way!!! She is the fierce yet gentle QUEEN. Love her,” one fan commented.

Janet Jackson Finding Joy in Music

Jackson is currently on her Together Again Tour. Despite her dislike for interviews, she shared her excitement about the tour. “This tour is the hardest one I’ve done in a very long time, but it’s a fun show,” she noted. She thrives on the lighter, more playful parts of her performances. Jackson’s passion for music and performing is evident, even if she prefers not to talk about it.

In her Heart Evenings interview, Jackson also spoke about her musical inspirations. “I have to exclude family because obviously that spoke to me first, seeing my brothers, my sisters, my cousin Stevie [Wonder] — seeing him perform was a huge inspiration,” she said. Jackson also shared her admiration for Earth, Wind & Fire. “My brothers would often take me with them when they would go to concerts, and I remember seeing Earth, Wind & Fire as a kid — just unforgettable,” she said.

Jackson’s memories of watching Prince perform also shaped her as an artist. “I remember seeing Prince when I was in my early 20s. He did some songs that I wasn’t that familiar with and didn’t do songs that I was familiar with,” she recalled. “I thought, ‘If I ever perform on this level, I don’t want to do that. I want to at least do songs that people are familiar with, for sure.’”
