Jennifer Lopez opens up about her life after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck.
The singer shared her feelings about her newly single life during a recent interview. “Now I’m excited when you say you’re just going to be on your own,” she said. “Yes, I’m not looking for anybody because of everything that I’ve done over the past 25, 30 years, being in these different challenging situations, what can I f***ing do when it’s just me flying on my own… what if I’m just free?”
Back in August, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on their two-year wedding anniversary. Shortly after that, it was reported that the two were seen together kissing and holding hands while having lunch with their children. However, their divorce is still ongoing.
While filing for divorce, Lopez did not specify what the reasons were and it is unclear if any agreements were in place. Many began to speculate that their relationship was on the rocks in mid-May. A close source said, “They just have very different approaches when it comes to media attention. Ben hates all attention and it makes him very uncomfortable. Jennifer has always had a different approach.” Around that same time, it was reported that they had been living separately.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck first met in the early 2000s on the set of their movie, “Gigli.” They shortly began to date and acquired the nickname, “Bennifer.” They also were engaged once before but didn’t make it down the aisle and broke up in 2004.
