Jennifer Lopez is ready to step back into making music once more after not releasing an album in almost a decade.
The singer has officially announced the release date for her ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now. The new album will also be accompanied by a film of the same name. and a companion film. Both are slated to drop on Feb. 16, 2024.
The new project will be a sequel to her 2002 project,This Is Me…Then. The film will be available to stream on Prime Video.
Lopez made the announcement of the new album via social media with a promotional video. She also teased the release of her new single, Can’t Get Enough, which she said will drop Jan. 10.
“This musical experience is a manifestation through music, film, and reality, of life’s journey on the search for truth about love,” a message at the end of the clip read.
This Is Me… Now: The Album features writing and executive production from Lopez and Rogét Chayed, and it features additional credits from Angel Lopez, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, HitBoy, Tay Keith, INK and more, according to a release. It’s described as the musician’s “most honest and personal” LP yet.
According to a release, the film will be a “musical and visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinized love life.” It also promises it will be “narrative-driven, intimate, reflective, sexy, funny, fantastical and highly entertaining.” The film was also co-written by Lopez’s husband, Ben Affleck, as well as Matt Walton.
