Jennifer Lopez has opened up about the emotional toll of her breakup with Ben Affleck, revealing that the split nearly “took her out.” In a recent interview with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine, Lopez shared her reflections on the challenges she faced after the end of their relationship.

Lopez and Affleck, who rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in 2022, announced their divorce earlier this year. Reflecting on the breakup, Lopez admitted it was one of the hardest periods of her life. “It almost did take me out for good,” she said. Despite the pain, she added, “I don’t regret it for one second.”

Lopez, 55, went on to explain that the breakup, while painful, brought important realizations. “Now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, ‘F—, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, God,’” she shared. She acknowledged that it took multiple difficult experiences to arrive at this point. “I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago,” she said.

Lopez also discussed her journey of self-discovery and the importance of finding happiness within herself. She emphasized the significance of personal growth, particularly after a breakup. “I think that’s what I love about life: there’s no arrival point,” she said, adding that her focus has shifted to self-improvement and embracing the future.

Lopez, who has had a high-profile career in entertainment for over 30 years, spoke candidly about the pressures of balancing personal and professional life. After canceling her 2023 tour to prioritize her well-being and her children, she spent time reflecting on her next steps. “I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep,” she said.

Though Lopez admitted the breakup was one of the hardest times of her life, she expressed gratitude for the lessons it taught her. “It was the best time because I got to do that work on myself,” she concluded.

Lopez remains focused on her career and personal growth, and she made it clear that she’s not actively searching for a new relationship. “I’m not looking for anybody,” she said.
