Jodie Turner-Smith expressed positivity regarding her ex-husband Joshua Jackson’s reported new relationship with Lupita Nyong’o. Discussing Jackson’s rumored romance, Turner-Smith shared with The Cut, “Good for them,” emphasizing the need for happiness to foster a peaceful co-parenting relationship. She added, “I hope they’re happy and that it benefits us as a family. I’m aiming for the Gwyneth [Paltrow] and Chris Martin level of co-parenting.”

Jodie Turner-Smith Learning from Public Scrutiny

Turner-Smith and Jackson, who married in 2019, have a daughter, Juno, born in 2020. Their marriage ended in October 2023, and soon after, Jackson was seen with Nyong’o. Reflecting on her own experiences, Turner-Smith discussed the impact of their public relationship. “When you’re in the public eye, a part of you belongs to the public,” she explained. She realized the importance of keeping her private life private. “I will never share my relationship publicly again. People don’t need to know everything.”

She recounted the early days of her relationship with Jackson, noting how public appearances influenced her career. “Being known as ‘Mrs. Joshua Jackson’ took away from my own achievements,” she said. “It started a painful public conversation about my personal life, especially during my pregnancy.”

Commitment to Co-Parenting

Following their split, Turner-Smith and Jackson agreed to joint custody of their daughter, with no child support involved. Turner-Smith is focused on ensuring a positive environment for Juno. “I want to set Juno up to succeed and co-parent peacefully with someone I once loved deeply,” she stated. She strives to embody peace, grace, love, empathy, and compassion, hoping these qualities will be reciprocated.

Turner-Smith is balancing her career and single motherhood. “I can’t afford to turn down jobs because of their location,” she said. “As a single mom, I need to work and support my child. As Cardi B says, ‘I need cheese for my egg.’” Recently, she completed filming “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” with Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie and is promoting her new project, “The Acolyte.”
