Actor Jonathan Majors has requested more time to respond to a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The lawsuit includes allegations of assault, battery, and defamation. According to court documents, Majors’ legal team requested the deadline be extended from August 15 to September 19.

Majors’ attorneys highlighted the necessity of this extension. They stated, “The Parties are in agreement that an extension beyond August 15, 2024, is necessary.” They cited two reasons: first, they are still gathering relevant files. Second, both parties are engaged in significant discussions about the case.

Grace Jabbari filed her lawsuit after a series of alleged incidents starting in late 2021. Her attorney noted, “This case arises from a pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023.” The lawsuit details multiple instances of alleged physical and verbal abuse.

Allegations Against Majors

One incident mentioned in the lawsuit occurred in July 2022. Jabbari claimed Majors physically attacked her, escalating his anger and verbal assaults. The lawsuit describes another attack in September 2022 and an incident in 2023 where Jabbari sustained injuries. Jabbari’s complaint read, “While Grace held Majors’s phone attempting to read a message, she felt a large weight against her body and immediate pain.”

In response to the allegations, Majors has consistently denied any wrongdoing. After his arrest in March 2023, he was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment. He was sentenced to a 52-week domestic violence intervention program but avoided jail time.

Majors has also faced accusations of defamation. Jabbari’s lawsuit claims his public statements about his innocence were defamatory. Her lawyer argued, “Put bluntly, Majors’s defense to Grace’s descriptions of the numerous acts of violence Majors perpetrated against her was to brazenly defame her and label her a liar.”

The lawsuit has had significant repercussions for Majors’ career. His projects have been halted or scrapped, and he lost a multi-million dollar contract with Disney. Currently, Majors is dating actress Meagan Good. The court has not yet ruled on the deadline extension request.
